There used to be a time when Netflix had all sorts of shows, you were able to watch them AD free, and you could even rate shows on a scale of 1 to 5 stars with comments.
People would make glorious comments and rate trashy shows as trash.
But after a few iterations of idiocracy, Netflix implemented Ads and removed any form of speech or critique on their platform.
The Conspiracy Theory
There are interests aligned and converged from Big Tech to censor anything that may resemble a down vote. Youtube and Facebook did it, and around the same time Netflix also got rid of their rating system. So it’s arguably politically motivated to move the overton window towards Big Tech Censorship and Surveillance Capitalism.
There are corporate interests from the investment machine that trade in Netflix as a Publicly traded Stock. With Netflix also creating their own shows as ‘Netflix Originals’, they stood in a position to compete with Hollywood Chomos and also all the Propaganda that Hollywood creates in combination with Government and other Industrial Interests. So either the status quo beat them or make them join in submission.
Using the Market as a way to leverage shares and sway opinion amongst the board, it’s highly possible that Netflix has now been subdued to the same interests that run Hollywood.
Additionally the money funding from the stock market has also allowed for a persuasion to intentionally downgrade Netflix to allow other streaming platforms to rise to power. Things like Hulu or Amazon or Disney, the backers of these have plenty of money and are no stranger to stock market influence.
So there’s multiple things going on here, and they all are plausibly true.
All of this is to plan their own controlled obsolescence.
The Retarded thing about Ads on Netflix
Netflix has Ads on Netflix to promote their own shows. Yes.
It’s retarded. Instead of just using a viable billboard screen on their home menu to advertise their shows, they’d rather interrupt and cut into your watching to force feed you dribble slop that they’re cooking up.
There are a few non-Netflix ads sponsored on Netflix, but having Netflix sponsored Netflix, either means you don’t know what you’re doing in marketing, or that you’re intentionally killing your services offered, or that you can’t find or allocate advertisers to want to advertise on Netflix or pay for it.
The fact that they are willing to advertise Netflix on Netflix- shows that they don’t need the money, since Netflix is already a subscription, and that they’ll do it out of spite to the viewer. They’re intentionally providing a shittier viewing experience out of spite, and not for a financial interest.
And to be honest, any AD I see on Netflix makes me immediately hostile to Netflix and whatever the Ad is.
In Closing
We went from Cable to Dish to TiVo to VHS and DVD to Netflix Streaming all to reinvent Television and commercials.
One of the problems with commercials interjecting themselves every five minutes, means that shows will now go back to the old meta of trying to time their shows to match commercials, and have shitty skips, instead of focusing on streamlined seamless videos.
Also, I hate seeing advertisements about Cars in a dystopian post apocalypse movie, let’s keep this shit relevant eh? I’d rather see you sell water filtration systems, if you guys wouldn’t stop being retarded and actually practice real marketing.
And a lot of people are probably just going to opt out and either pirate their shows because of the exclusivity wars requiring multiple subscriptions to multiple platforms, or they’ll do something else that isn’t overly stupid like work out or touch grass instead of pay to watch Ads.
That right, paying for a subscription to watch Ads, that’s arguably the majority of streaming services in this day and age.
I’ve Reached out to Netflix telepathically yet they have not returned a reply.
