The Manufacturing of Culture

If you look at Culture as an amalgamation of tradition, trends, fad, traditions, laws, policy, and customs. Then it would make sense that Culture can be extracted and leveraged for both clout, influence, and money.

To shape public opinions, form distractions, and to move the conversation towards a direction. The Goal of the Bread and Circus.

I mean, during various times throughout recent history, many ‘thought leaders’ and ‘celebrities’ chimed in to use their clout and influence to speak out about and for specific causes, sides, issues, debates, and policies.

sauce

A mouthpiece of influence to spread messages, whether that message is shit or not, is besides the point.

Politics is shaped by public opinion and relations,

manufacturing culture is similar to manufacturing consent.

Thusly, Celebrities, clout chasers, and influencers are designed. Each person is a brand and their likeness is promoted to be extrapolated and exploited for the masses.

A Business plan for a person’s road to famedom or capture by the big wigs in the industry or a record label somewhere is all a part of the offered process. Golden handcuffs and balls and chains. To make one a ‘star’ or ‘famous’ they’ll have to cede parts of their freedoms for their fame. To devote things and change their way of being and thinking to manifest a character or persona that is both malleable and distinct.

-and turn freedoms into individual liberties handled by a handler, very much like how Kanye West had a Handler that threatened to (over)dose him on Lithium, or how certain celebrities had meltdowns or tabloid and paparazzi harassment to the degree of coercion and extortion.

What I’m trying to get at, is that grass root small time influencers become a target for capture.

-there are people that scout talents and make ‘offers’.
What’s the trade?
What’s the deal?

AND, celebrities are planned in the making, as if robots produced by a large culture machine to extrapolate value and wealth by them acting, singing, or being the ‘idol’. Essentially becoming replaceable cogs in the fame monster machine.

An Idol monster, similar to K-pop industry or J-Pop or Hollywood, these monster behemoths inhabit all facets of every nation exporting their culture around the world.

Information warfare and financial warfare are not the only Fifth generational forms of warfare. Culture wars or culture warfare is a thing too.

I know, the term ‘Culture warriors’ and the like of the ilk sound lame, but it’s a real thing. Moving both policy and ideology to influence and infect cultural standards and cultural norms, to shape, inhabit, or inhibit ways of thinking and ways of being. To influence policy and calls-to-action. To influence the masses of the susceptible kind.

It’s all jazz.

Point being, Celebrities and icons are promoted and blasted based on merit based hoops that they jump through, as if a factory fame machine is churning out icons and iconic iconographic people to be idol worshipped for checking the right boxes and jumping through the proper hoops.

In this sense, culture is then a manufacturing of idols and it’s constituent or substituent follower base. Each Person becomes their sort of religion, Celebrities exalted as gods, with fanatics that sway to their beck and call or their evening whims on a talk show or broadcast.

Just a way to guide the conversations

Atleast, that’s how the old world worked. Whether or not that works today is dependent on the consciousness levels of those that partake in the eating of the fruits of the media-circus. To say it’s not affecting anyone is a misnomer, to say it’s affecting everyone is retarded.

Broadcasting, script writing, runes, magic, yada-yada. I stopped caring and I’mma end this shiticle.

In Closing,

The Fame name and Fame monsters of all sorts are to some degree their own persons and also bought out. Each part of someone’s being, time, and attention, from their statements to their fashion statements and brand endorsed deals are a part of the regulatory-like capture of one’s persona, identity or being. As if a celebrity’s time slot is a piece of real estate up for sale to be a mouth piece to endorse a specific idea or way of being. Propagating influence to fanatics and those that are ‘relating’ to it.

The Celebrities are manufactured, to create manufactured culture, movies-music-and-media-a-like, which is exported to influence cities, nations, and the world.

It’s, uhhhh, one way to win that game.

I’m merely spitting some trash article on one of the -arguably not new- forms of warfare. Not for any reason in particular, just a social commentary and critique. Consider it another trash post with no substance, like all those times you sit on a toilet thinking you’ve got shit but it’s just airy farts.
