Look man, if someone runs away or resists arrest, then just chalk that up with the body cam footage, testimonies, and character statements instead of a charge. If anyone resists arrest and actually harms someone or something causing real damage, then that’s a separate charge that ought to be weighed against both sides of the aisle (the Cops and the alleged Criminal).
Having Resisting Arrest be a separate -stand alone- charge resulting in a misdemeanor or a felony is a scam.
Honestly, some cops would probably try to break your arm by bending it at the bone and not the joints, or pull you out of your car (while it’s in drive) with your foot on the brakes and your seat belt on, then charge you with resisting arrest because your seat belt kept you in place. This has happened before, I’m not shitting you.
Also,
Apparently, people can get charged and convicted with their only charge being Resisting arrest. No other crimes committed being charge. This has happened before. -Again- I’m not shitting you. (And it’s an understandable charge if you’re obstructing justice to resist someone else’s arrest, but if you’re resisting your own, that charge is a bit retarded).
In the event that the charges are indeed about obstruction of justice, then you ought to get a different charge then ‘resisting arrest’. My opinion. Also, filming the police and being within a safe distance away isn’t obstructing justice, my opinion. Idiots everywhere do their own underwriting on what’s safe when they drive their car or step on a sidewalk next to moving vehicles, if they’re not actively blocking, touching, or damaging property, evidence, or people, then let em be. Again, my opinion.
No other charges to a resisting your own arrest charge is a scam, Cops can then just think you’re suspicious of a crime, then cuff (or detain) you based on suspicion, then charge you for resisting getting cuffed (or detained whether or not you actually resisted arrest).
Heavens forbid a cop is human and, dare I say, lies and abuse their authority.

Imagine if you’re being arrested for being arrested, this is what rational people call fascism. A militant overuse of force to compel and fuck over someone not doing shit or not giving a fuck within their own rights.
Welcome to Fascism.
In Closing
Resisting arrest is a pussy-ass charge and I stand by that statement.
If cops can just jail you for wanting to jail you, then that’s not very constitutional or due process, in my opinion. Depriving you of liberty and movement and time, that’s a dumb charge.
This world has a lot of problems, sure, and this is one of em.
