Everyone knows a lot of corporate positions are bullshit jobs.

Hell, it’s a time old tale that people would post job offers just to make it seem like they’re providing a competition to the market before they hire their nepo baby family friend.

But Now, Corpos are issuing Ghost Jobs to saturate the market. Bullshit imaginary jobs that don’t exist, now infecting your employment chances ever since Covid and Remote work;

One part, to seem like the company is seeking growth and advancement, another part to diminish the opportunity for anyone else or any other corporations from benefiting from a matchup of gainful employment proposition.

Meaning a company will saturate and flood the market with either;

Offering lower benefits, to make employees less likely to leave. Thus curving the ‘average’ salary of a position that they’re currently paying for to their current employees.

Or offering Greater Benefits, with no intent to hire to shadow other companies offering what they have or be buried in the back of search pages and have to compete with higher pricing.

If your corporation or company tries to change your job title, it’s likely to avoid paying a competitive marketplace salary. Instead of being paid as a lets say, Advance Head Researcher Engineer, you might get a job title change to ‘Lead innovative designer’, and thus finding similar job positions can net negative pay scales. Additionally, this is a way to not pay you more to match the marketplace and keep you longer for retention.

This also hurts future prospects, because you technically got a demotion in name and are now receiving less credentialing if you try to use the new name as a means to penetrate future markets.

It’s like a promotion in name only without the pay, but worse. It’s a demotion without the pay raise. It’s worse.

In all purposes, keep an eye when a Corporation does something.

They don’t do things ‘willy nilly’ as it seems.

All of it is for a reason. Even if you’re a nihilistic ass person, greed and profit still exist in the real world.

Ghost Jobs are scummy, and Corpos are doing this to flood ‘job’ markets. The Term ‘job market’ is a future dystopian nightmare, but an economist’s wet dream, it’s gross.

Corpos use AI to create job offerings and use AI to filter employee prospectus. It’s all being automated, but HR isn’t getting fired.

As a reminder, HR is an arm to protect the company, not you. You’re the Human Resource that the company is leveraging, and HR is just management on behalf of the company. They’re not there to help you.

I’d hope that there are fines and penalties and enforcement against this type of scummy practice.

I would much rather prefer nepo baby job offerings, where atleast one person gets the job.

Rather than job offerings just to give Stock Equity investors a feeling of fluff that the company is growing and doing well.
