Roku and Smart TVs are a scam

So recently, Roku disables their TV and all streaming devices until people consent to the new terms.

You could not use the TV unless you consent to the terms.

So if you bought a Roku TV for say $125, then you bought yourself a smart device with a contract that includes an internal arbitration agreement where you can’t go to court against them.

Lmao.

Don’t worry, you can appeal and disagree with their terms for the product that YOU OWN by using a letter mail in the digital age. Yes, send mail to them to dispute disagreeing with this jazz.

It’s obvious that ‘smart’ things and ‘electric’ appliances connected to the Internet of Things is basically consenting to a digital timed lease.

Why buy a TV if you can’t watch?

Why buy a streaming service if it’s littered with ads?

Why buy digital software that requires subscriptions and if they decide to discontinue their licensing, you lose your digital purchases? (Includes videos, video games, music, and software).

The Future isn’t Digital, it’s slavery ass backwards.

In Closing

Yea, Smart TVs sound so dumb. Most Digital products are vapor ware, one minute it’s there, and the next is gone. Just like your hard earned money paid for it.

It’s all part of a subscription lease to rent never to own, planning for an obsolescence and phasing out old goods to collect your data and get you to buy newer (arguably shittier) shit.

It goes in line with the anti-repair ideology. What’s broken? Well the company is defunct now or decided to discontinue their services and bricked your device. What’s the fix? Don’t buy shit that’s digitally contracted to last (Electric cars and the like).

You know, There was a Time when American Made Goods were made to last and could be passed down generations like heirlooms. Your Digital Shitbox? Not so much.
